Task Description: For this writing task we had to write either why phones should be allowed at school or why phones shouldn’t be allowed at school. I wrote why phones shouldn’t be allowed at school because I thought that was most optimal for teachers and students.

Why should school have a longer break period Because it clears the mind ready for the next subject.
Firstly,
Schools should have longer break periods because it is really good fitness for themselves physically and Mentally. It also clears their mind so when it is time for the next activity they are ready. Did you know that the fitter you are the longer you live. If kids get longer break periods they’re going to be more settled for when it is time to do schoolwork.
Secondly,
Kids get to meet new people and meet new friends. The teachers get a longer break if the students get a break so it is a win-win for everyone, students and teachers also principals.
Thirdly
Like almost every kid likes more time to play so that will also attract more children. And if more kids come we could show more people that glen taylor is a really kind and sharing school
Finally,
We should act now because students are becoming older because 6.6 percent of the world is 10 – 14/intermediate years old so they are moving to college. So this is how I am going to persuade you into making break periods longer.
Kites
Kites
Kites are an activity people use to play some people even use kites for celebration.
An example of a celebration that people fly kites in could be Matariki. They believe that flying kites in Matariki would touch the stars. Even though a kite can go up to 100 meters. The people that created first kite is called:
Assen Jordanoff and David Gustetner. The first kite was also made in China, it was made with wood (the first kite) About 1000 BCE Ago ( BCE stands for Before the common Era). Fun Fact, The fastest kite that flew recorded 120 MPH.
If you want the easiest way to fly a kite is to probably have your back against the wind then launch the kite up. Make sure it is windy because if there is no wind you cannot or maybe impossible to fly a kite.
Safety Alert Safety Alert. Don’t fly a kite in rain or a thunderstorm because your kite could carry electricity and then shock you.
Other things that people use kites for in the olden days are:
- Testing the wind
- Measuring distances
But also remember kites are always for fun too.
What is pollination
What is pollination
Pollination is when Insects collect pollen on accident and transfer it onto the stigma.
There are 2 types of pollination. Insect Pollination and Wind Pollination.
Insect pollination
Insect pollination is when Insects go and collect pollen then they get all sticky and have pollen on them, then when they go onto a different plant the pollen accidentally goes on to the sigma, then it collects from then down the style into the ovary. Did you know that some types of birds feed on pollen.
Wind pollination
Wind pollination is when there is an open plant and the wind sweeps in and collects some pollen. The difference between an open plant and a closed plant is that the anther and stigma is exposed to the wind while the closed plant is when the anther and stigma is covered by petals. Another example is an open plant’s pollen. There are mini pieces of pollen which are lighter, while a closed plant is more sticky and hard to get.
My Opinion
I think bee pollination is one of the most important pollinations because that is the process on how to make honey.
That was Matriki
I did a Matriki poem using all senses and Seven sister.
